THOUGH DEATH TO DEATHLESS-NESS
[মৃত্যুর  পথে  মৃত্যু এড়ায়ে যাব ]



"आनन्दरूपं अमृतं यातबिभाति "

চকিত আলোকে কখনো  সহসা  দেখা দেয়  সুন্দর ,
 In sudden flashes , that formless beautiful One, appears before me

দেয়  না  তবুও ধরা --
Even then does not like to be caught by a full visual
মাটির দুয়ার ক্ষণেক খুলিয়া আপন গোপন ঘর
Opening suddenly the earthen doors in the down  

দেখায়  বসুন্ধরা।
The mother Earth shows her secret room, 

আলোকধামের  আভাস সেথায় আছে
There lies an  indicative shape of the divine abode, 

মর্ত্যের  বুকে  অমৃত  পাত্রে  ঢাকা ;
Down under the Earth, lies there, a covered jar of nectar,

ফাগুন সেথায়  মন্ত্র  লাগায়  গাছে ,
Sitting there Hymns are uttered by the Springs 

অরূপের রূপ পল্লবে পড়ে  আঁকা।
The formless One  appears with covers of  the new-grown  leaves.

"वेदाहं एतम्  पुरुषं महान्तं "

'দেখেছি দেখেছি '- এই কথা বলিবারে
" I saw Him, I have seen'-to say these words,

সুর বেঁধে যায় , কথা না যোগায় মুখে ;
No tune can play, no word come to my mouth, 

ধন্য যে আমি , সে কথা জানাই  কারে  --
 That I am the blessed one, whom can I convey that,

পরশাতীতের  হরষ  জাগে যে  বুকে।
 My heart is flooded with the pleasures
          of the touches of the touch-less one.

"तामेब विदित्यातिमृत्युमेति "

যাহা জানিবার কোনোকালে তার জেনেছি যে কোনোকিছু
What ever is knowable, anything of that, ever known by me any time,

কে তাহা বলিতে পারে  --
Who does know and say me  that-

সকল পাওয়ার মাঝে না-পাওয়ার  চলিয়াছি  পিছু পিছু
Whatever I got, there lies something not-got, for which I am running  behind that,

অচেনার অভিসারে।
In an adventure for  that unknown .

তবুও  চিত্ত  অহেতু  আনন্দেতে
Still my heart is jumping up with causeless pleasures

বিশ্বনৃত্যলীলায়  উঠেছে মেতে ;
And lost up in dancing on stage of this Universe ;

সেই ছন্দেই মুক্তি আমার পাব,
Through that tunes and rhythms I shall slip into liberation  

মৃত্যুর  পথে  মৃত্যু এড়ায়ে যাব।
And escape the death, through the passage of  death .



"आनन्दं प्रयान्ति अभिसंबिषन्ति च "

কী আছে জানি না দিন-অবসানে মৃত্যুর অবশেষে ;
At the end of the day, I failed to know, what  happens after the death,

এ প্রাণের কোনো ছায়া
Whether any sign and shadow of this life,

শেষ আলো  দিয়ে ফেলিবে কি রঙ  অস্তরবির দেশে,
By it's last beams , color up  the sky of the sun-set time of  other world,

 রচিবে কি কোনো মায়া।
To create some  illusory pleasure .

জীবনেরে  যাহা জেনেছি অনেক তাই ;
Whatever I learnt about life, it is enough for me

সীমা থাকে থাক, তাবু তার সীমা নাই।
May it have imitation, but it has also exceeded all limitations

নিবিড় তাহার সত্য আমার প্রাণে
The end truth of Him is embedded in my soul,

নিখিল ভুবন ব্যাপিয়া নিজেরে জানে। 

And it knows itself extended and mingled with the whole Universe.
